Disclaimer by Renée Knight is being adapted into a miniseries – the story revolves around a documentary journalist who discovers that she is the main character in a novel involving a secret she has spent years trying to hide – directed by Alfonso Cuarón and starring Cate Blanchett -stream on AppleTV+ starting October 11, 2024
September Highlights:
The main highlight would HAVE to be the 24-Hour Fall Equinox readathon that I hosted! It was so fun spending a whole day reading and interacting with my fellow book lovers and bonus; I was able to finish The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop, which was just recently released, and which I highly recommend (especially the audiobook version because Kelly narrates it herself).
In addition – I had NO plans for reading or screening The Wild Robot, but when it started to get some good word of mouth, I decided to check it out. I ended up listening to the audiobook via Spotify, and then going to see the film at my local AMC and I am soooooo happy that I did! The story follows a robot named Roz who gets stranded on an island and learns how to override her initial robotic (pun intended) programming and learns how to be more human through becoming the adoptive mother of a gosling she names Brightbill. Trust me – you won’t regret reading the book or going to see the movie, they’re both fantastic and suitable for the whole family!
News:
Emily Henry has announced the title of her newest novel (yay!) Great Big Beautiful Life is expected to be released April 2025, and I am too excited! There are rumors that this may be a slight departure from her past romance novels, but time will tell!
East of Eden by John Steinbeck (and one of my personal favorite books of all time) is being adapted into a limited series for Netflix starring Florence Pugh! The project is still in the early stages, but if they pull off a true adaptation of the ENTIRE book (which the beloved James Dean movie did not) this could end up being a modern classic for sure!

Kyle Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fame is set to be working on a “mystery project” with none other than the queen of book adaptation Reese Witherspoon and her Hello Sunshine company – as an OG Real Housewives fan I can’t tell you how excited this makes me!

As you all probably already know, Wicked is coming to theatres this Thanksgiving.
