May Highlights:
As a swiftie, there is literally NOTHING that I could write about as my May highlight besides the fact that Taylor Swift owns ALL of her music!!! I spent my entire afternoon on Taydependence Day (which is what May 30th will forever be known as) scrolling through Instagram and Tik Tok and watching my fellow swifties celebrate the fact that we won! I am not going to lie though; I am quite devastated that it appears we will not be getting a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) BUT we do still have to vault tracks that according to Taylor may still be released and she has also admitted to having finished recording Debut – so I will try not to be too sad.

News:
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and to celebrate Alexis Bledel (star of the Tuck Everlasting movie adaptation and famous for her role as Rory Gilmore) will be narrating an audiobook version set to release on September 2, 2025! There are also special editions of the physical book coming out including a graphic novel!

One of the most celebrated, and for good reason, poets of the modern era have a new collection of poems releasing on September 9, 2025. Little Alleluias by Mary Oliver includes both poetry and prose that comment on themes of nature and love. I don’t know about you but this just shot to the TOP of my Fall tbr 😊.
I cannot believe I’m saying this, but a sequel to The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy is releasing on October 14, 2025! This book connected with so many people, including myself, and the movie adaptation from Apple TV+ is perfection (PLEASE watch it if you haven’t – it’s especially wonderful to watch during the Winter season in my opinion). The sequel will be called Always Remember.

Summer in the City by Alex Aster is being adapted into a movie by New Line Cinema! I was lucky enough to grab the adorable Barnes & Noble edition of the book (I haven’t read it just yet, but I will for sure be reading it this Summer). We’ve been majorly lacking in the rom-com department as far as big Hollywood releases go, so I am pumped for this!
Dan Brown is having quite the year! Earlier in 2025 he announced his new book The Secret of Secrets which is set to be released on September 9, 2025, and now Netflix has won a bidding war to produce the adaptation! I am so excited for all of this news because the adventures of Robert Langdon are something I have followed since its inception, so bring it on!
Just For Fun:
If you’re an audiobook lover like me then June is your month to celebrate because it’s Audiobook Appreciation Month! As a note, my preferred audiobooks are autobiographies read by the author - I feel like it truly brings the story to life, and it’s so fun to listen to the author read their own story.
