Let me start off by apologizing for the late newsletter (I was enjoying the Labor Day holiday and time got away from me). However, if you know me, you know that Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, so I was not going to miss sending out my first Fall newsletter of the season! This past week the temperature actually dropped, and there was a crispness in the air that literally gave me life! So cheers to the start of Fall!

September Watch List:
The Long Walk - Stephen King’s first novel, written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, has been adapted into a feature film. The story takes place in a dystopian version of the United States that is in severe economic turmoil and every year a group of citizens, consisting of one young man from each of the 50 states, participates in “The Long Walk” where they have to walk while maintaining a continuous pace of 3 mph until they are the last contestant alive – directed by Francis Lawrence who’s experience includes helming some of the most popular dystopian book adaptations of modern times, the Hunger Games Series, and starring Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Charlie Plummer, and Mark Hamill – the movie releases to theatres nationwide on September 12, 2025.
The Book of Sheen Charlie Sheen’s autobiography will be released on September 9th and available wherever books are sold (personally I LOVE listening to autobiographies so I will be consuming this via audiobook) and the next day, September 10th, Netflix is dropping a two-part docuseries called aka Charlie Sheen. I will definitely be checking these out as I am extremely curious to see how much Charlie will discuss that we don’t already know about, and also to be able to finally hear about his full sobriety journey.
August Highlights:
I am both proud and embarrassed to say this but *drumroll* I finally read and screened Jaws! I had seen advertisements earlier this Summer for the 50th Anniversary of Jaws and to celebrate it would be re-released in theatres and I said to myself, “Self – I think the time has finally come to read and screen this classic. It’s been 50 years, it’s time.” If I had to give you a brief review, I would say that the book was enjoyable (though it could have done with some editing), but the movie was amazing! I feel like what Steven Spielberg did was take the best parts of the book and expand upon them while cutting out all the unnecessary sub-plots. He then elevated everything by using practical effects and bringing the level of tension and drama to a 10/10 with that iconic John Williams score. This was a bucket list read and screen, and I would recommend it to everyone as the perfect Summer seasonal activity!
News:
In honor of Gilmore Girls 25th Anniversary a new documentary is in the works titled “Searching for Stars Hollow” – no release date has been announced as of yet.
